The Lodi Flames will take on the Tracy Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Lodi beat St. Mary's 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Flames.
Lodi had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-23.
Meanwhile, Tracy hadn't done well against Kimball recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Jaguars 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since April 24, 2024.
Tracy was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 21-25, 14-25, 25-10, 15-6.
Lodi better focus on containing Ethan Juran and Christopher Pena as the pair were huge in Tracy's win. Juran had 16 digs, while Pena had 12 digs.
Tracy's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Lodi, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Lodi came out on top in a nail-biter against Tracy when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Flames have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
