The Park City Miners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 73-63 to Murray. Park City has not had much luck with Murray recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Park City lost, one person who can't be blamed is Duke Gordon. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Murray's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quinton Christman led the charge by scoring 21 points along with five assists and three steals. Christman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Treyce Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Park City has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Murray, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Park City's road trip will continue as they head out to face Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Jordan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. As for Murray, they will head out on the road to face off against Hillcrest at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
