The Gulf Breeze Dolphins's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. Everything went their way against Pace as Gulf Breeze made off with a 51-25 victory. Given Gulf Breeze's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while Pace is ranked 586th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Hutson Rowe, who scored 12 points along with three steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Trent Peak, who scored five points along with five assists and four steals.
Gulf Breeze's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Pace, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Gulf Breeze will square off against Fleming Island at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Fleming Island focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday. As for Pace, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Milton at 6:15 p.m. on January 12th. Milton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Pace likes a good challenge.
