The Laughlin Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 47-22 loss at the hands of Lake Mead Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Laughlin of the 59-20 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the loss, Laughlin saw an underclassman step up: Amora Thomas scored eight points along with four steals. Daishanae Jackson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six steals.
Laughlin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Lake Mead Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Laughlin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 32-25 win vs. GV Christian on the 10th. Lake Mead Academy has also already played their next game, a 56-25 defeat against Needles on the 10th.
