The Dos Palos Broncos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Santa Maria Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dos Palos will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Dos Palos was not the first on the board two weeks ago, but they got there more often. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Coalinga 21-20.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Santa Maria walked away with it. They walked away with a 36-29 victory over Caruthers on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Santa Maria.
Santa Maria's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josue Elena, who threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Aldo Araiza, who gained 146 total yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Dos Palos to 9-1 and Santa Maria to 6-5.
