Justen Ruppe threw for four touchdowns as
Lake Oswego (Ore.) defeated Clackamas (Ore.) 55-21 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Ruppe to
Romello Washington in the first quarter, the Lakers led 42-7 at the half.
Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 35 entering the fourth.
Ruppe and
Connor Griffin teamed up to form a dynamic passing combination. Griffin has now caught three touchdowns this season, while Ruppe has thrown 12.
Michael McDonald made a difference for the Cavaliers. The junior wingback kicked one extra point.
A 42-21 Lake Oswego victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Clackamas, which notched a 59-49 victory over West Linn in its previous outing. The loss snapped Clackamas' 2-game winning streak.
In a 6A Three Rivers game next week Lake Oswego (7-0) takes on Lakeridge, and Clackamas (4-3) will go up against Oregon City also in a 6A Three Rivers game.
