The Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 53-10 loss at the hands of Pinnacle Classical Academy. Lake Lure Classical Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-6.
Jeska Gobin was Lake Lure Classical Academy's leading scorer, having posted four points.
Brooke Smith held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
Lake Lure Classical Academy bumped their record down to 1-10 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.1 points per game. As for Pinnacle Classical Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Lure Classical Academy will challenge Veritas Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Veritas Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Monday. Pinnacle Classical Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Thomas Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Thomas Jefferson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
