Baseball Recap: Lake Washington's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lake Washington waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Mount Si Wildcats as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Kangaroos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.

Malachi Toungate and Aidan Mehlberg did most of the damage at the plate: Toungate got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base, while Mehlberg got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Toungate continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Cooley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Lake Washington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .515 or higher in three consecutive games.

Lake Washington pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Mount Si, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Washington will square off against Juanita at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mount Si, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Skyline at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
