The Venice Indians lost against the Port Charlotte Pirates back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Venice's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chad Fleming, who scored nine points along with three steals. Marcel Fil was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Venice has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Port Charlotte, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
