Elkhorn South posted their biggest win since January 7th on Friday. Everything went their way against the Burke Bulldogs as the Elkhorn South Storm made off with an 83-57 victory. The win continues a trend for the Storm in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

It was another big night for Cooper Mroczek, who dropped a double-double with 32 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Schwarz, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 15 points along with eight boards and six assists.

Elkhorn South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nate Vereen-Burton, who posted 11 points and five assists. Michael White was another key player, going 5 of 8 to rack up 10 points and six rebounds.

Elkhorn South's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Burke, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Coming up, Elkhorn South is taking a road trip to challenge Lincoln North Star at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Elkhorn South knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Lincoln North Star likes a good challenge. As for Burke, they have already played their next contest, a 75-55 win against Columbus on the 11th.
