Anderson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 25-12 to Central Valley.
Gavin Lockhart put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Lockhart's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
Meanwhile, West Valley took a serious blow against University Prep on Friday, falling 52-6. While losing is never fun, West Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 667th, while University Prep is ranked 273rd).
Anderson's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Central Valley, University Prep, and Yreka. As for West Valley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
