The Lely Trojans were the 71-68 winner over the Naples Golden Eagles when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Lely fell 59-52 to Naples on Thursday.
Despite the loss, Lely still got an impressive performance from Lovence Valcin, who scored 10 points along with 6 steals and 5 assists. Richard Obas was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 3 steals.
Lely's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Naples, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lely will challenge Barron Collier at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Naples, they will head out on the road to face off against Ida Baker at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ida Baker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 480th, while Naples is ranked 38th).
