After a string of seven wins, the Carlisle County Comets's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 62-54 to Ballard Memorial. Carlisle County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bombers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
Carlisle County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Burnett, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Zack Grogan, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Carlisle County's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7. As for Ballard Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-13 record this season.
Carlisle County will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Community Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Comets are ranked 133rd). As for Ballard Memorial, they will head out on the road to square off against the Patriots at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Massac County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
