The Silsbee Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Jasper Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Jasper will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Silsbee extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand Newton a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Matsyn Morris was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Silsbee let Ryder Blythe and Morris Hudsyn run wild. Blythe went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run, while Hudsyn got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Hudsyn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Potts, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.
Silsbee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jasper). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 win over Onalaska on Saturday.
Kyson Pantoja made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Jasper's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 3-11-1 when he doesn't). Pantoja was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Trevor Beatty was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Payton Brooks also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Silsbee's record now sits at 12-3-2. As for Jasper, their record is now 5-12-1.
Everything went Silsbee's way against Jasper when the teams last played back in March of 2025, as Silsbee made off with a 14-3 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
