The Siegel Stars will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Wilson Central Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th.
Last Saturday, Siegel came up short against Upperman and fell 54-42. While losing is never fun, Siegel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Upperman is ranked fourth).
Wilson Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 21 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 61-40 margin over Mount Juliet.
Wilson Central's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Rita Planella, who scored 17 points, and Jadyn Cooper, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Alli McCullough was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Their wins bumped Siegel to 3-3 and Upperman to 8-0.
Siegel was able to grind out a solid win over Wilson Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 48-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Siegel since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
