The Cortland Purple Tigers struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Chittenango Bears had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Cortland had to suffer through a rough 91-38 loss at the hands of the Bears. Cortland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-15.
When it comes to explaining why Cortland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Antonio Terrazas. Despite the final result, he scored nine points.
Ryan Moesch continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chittenango, scoring 30 points along with five assists and five steals. Moesch is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 21 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brendon Barnard, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Cortland dropped their record down to 4-12 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Chittenango, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cortland will take on the Warriors at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Westhill is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games. As for Chittenango, they will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Institute of Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Bears are ranked 96th).
