The Orange Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to Hawken. Orange has not had much luck with Hawken recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hawken to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julia Scales, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Scales has scored at least 25% of Hawken's points. Sarah Liu was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Orange's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-5. As for Hawken, their victory bumped their record up to 1-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orange will be home for the holidays to greet Harvey at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Harvey and Orange are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Hawken will be home for the holidays to greet Hathaway Brown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
