It was a good run, but the Ridgecroft Rams unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were outmatched by Crossroads Christian at home and fell 93-57. Ridgecroft has struggled against Crossroads Christian recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Ridgecroft still got an impressive performance from Sawyer Chamblee, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Chamblee's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bill Vaughan, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Ridgecroft were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crossroads Christian only racked up 25 assists.
Crossroads Christian found their leader in underclassman Ely Phillips, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 2 assists. The match was Phillips' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Gladieux, who scored 17 points.
Ridgecroft's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for Crossroads Christian, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridgecroft won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Northeast Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Northeast Academy is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. Crossroads Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cresset Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on January 12th. Cresset Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 641st, while Crossroads Christian is ranked 185th).
