Basketball Recap: Desoto Extends Home Winning Streak to 16

DeSoto had won 15 straight home games dating back to last season and Carsyn Gore did her part to make it 16 on Monday. The DeSoto Thunderbirds blew past the West Memphis Christian Black Knights 75-44 thanks in part to Gore, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 12 assists, and 11 steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2023.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Jo Holder, who posted seven points in addition to five boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played.

DeSoto has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for West Memphis Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

DeSoto wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 0-0 win against North Sunflower Academy on the 14th. West Memphis Christian has also already played their next contest (against Rossville Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
