The Springville Tigers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-13 victory over St. Clair County on the road. Springville pushed the score to 35-13 by the end of the third, a deficit St. Clair County had little chance of recovering from.
Mahlon Alverson had a dynamite game for Springville, rushing for 211 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also catching a touchdown. Alverson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 68 yards. Noel Cox was in the mix too, providing Springville with two touchdowns.
Springville's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 4-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points per game. As for St. Clair County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Springville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Clair County will be playing in front of their home fans against Dora at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
