The Palmetto Panthers will head out to take on the Palmer Trinity Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Last Monday, Palmetto got the win against Lourdes Academy by a conclusive 11-3. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with Lourdes Academy: they've now won five in a row.

Lauren Falls made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.8 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alicia Thomason, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Thomason is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Jessica Ortiz, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Palmetto kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Falcons on Tuesday. Palmer Trinity's pitchers stepped up to hand Ferguson a 6-0 shutout. Palmer Trinity might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six runs or more this season.
Hailey Rodriguez made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Rodriguez was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Gina Marie Pineda was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two doubles. Francesca Rivero also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Palmer Trinity pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. As for Palmetto, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Palmetto's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. Palmetto has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Palmer Trinity, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Palmetto continue to outrun the ball?
Palmetto took their win against Palmer Trinity in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-5. Will Palmetto repeat their success, or does Palmer Trinity have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
