Decatur Community is 0-10 against Rawlins County since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Decatur Community Red Devils will look to defend their home court against the Rawlins County Buffaloes. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Decatur Community's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in December of 2023 after their third straight loss. They fell 58-48 to Oakley. Decatur Community has not had much luck with Oakley recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite their loss, Decatur Community saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tyler Ostmeyer, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Davin Jensen, who scored eight points along with six steals.
Even though they lost, Decatur Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Rawlins County pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 75-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greeley County.
Loss or not, Rawlins County got some senior leadership from Brayan Rodriguez who scored 19 points along with five steals and Peter Crouse who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Crouse scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tru Dewey, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Decatur Community's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Rawlins County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Decatur Community have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 28.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Rawlins County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 28.2 rebounds per game. Given Decatur Community's sizeable advantage in that area, Rawlins County will need to find a way to close that gap.

A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Rodriguez, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
