Okawville hasn't had much luck against Woodlawn recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rockets will look to defend their home field against the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Okawville has three straight victories, Woodlawn has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Okawville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over Collinsville on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Jaycie Buss, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jilien Harre, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Okawville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Woodlawn took on Farina South Central on Saturday. The Cardinals lost 15-5 to the Cougars. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly ten runs.
Woodlawn saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hanley Lamacchia, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Okawville now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Woodlawn, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Okawville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Woodlawn struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Okawville beat Woodlawn 8-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Rockets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
