The Clover Park Timberwolves lost against the Lakes Lancers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Clover Park fell 54-45 to Lakes. Clover Park has struggled against Lakes recently, as their game on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Clover Park's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kamila Salanoa, who scored 18 points along with seven blocks and six rebounds, and Andralynne Harless who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Salanoa scored a full 40% of Clover Park's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Aliana Riviere was another key contributor, scoring three points along with 11 rebounds.
Samara Oliver was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and six steals for Lakes. The matchup was Oliver's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Schmidt, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Clover Park's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lakes, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Clover Park will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Steilacoom at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024. Lakes' road trip will continue as they head out to face Centralia at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th. Centralia comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
