Softball Recap: Beavercreek Has No Trouble Against Carlisle

Beavercreek had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Carlisle on Wednesday. Beavercreek put the hurt on Carlisle with a sharp 11-1 win. That's more bragging rights for the Beavers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Viera Barrett made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Barrett was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Kayla Gard looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

Back at the plate, Brylee Greene was a standout: she scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Olivia Blackmore, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Beavercreek's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Carlisle, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beavercreek will take on Bishop Fenwick at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beavercreek will need to watch out since Bishop Fenwick has now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Carlisle, they will venture away from home to square off against Northwestern at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
