They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-66 win over Training Center Christian. With that win, Frontier School of Excellence brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.
Frontier School of Excellence was led to victory by Mohamed Yussuf and Henry Uti. Yussuf scored 17 points, while Uti scored 18 points. Uti has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. Jakeem Davis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Despite the loss, Training Center Christian saw an underclassman step up: Creed Lopez scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lopez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alex Bryan, who scored 12 points.
Frontier School of Excellence's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Training Center Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Frontier School of Excellence will play host again and welcome the , where tip off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Ozanam is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Training Center Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Angels at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
