The Dexter Tigers gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 33-24 win over Penquis Valley. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Dexter also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Dexter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Cooper, who scored 5 points along with 6 steals. Another player making a difference was Will Spratt, who scored 9 points along with 3 blocks.
Dexter's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Penquis Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dexter will take on Piscataquis at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Penquis Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lee Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
