After six games on the road, Kenesaw is heading back home. They will take on the Red Cloud Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Saturday, Kenesaw came up short against the Mustangs and fell 51-40.
Maddox Wagoner put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 19 points. Blake Steer was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Red Cloud also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to the Dragons by a score of 40-32. Red Cloud has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Red Cloud saw an underclassman step up: Wyatt Frey scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Frey has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gage Ely, who scored six points along with eight assists.
Kenesaw's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Red Cloud, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Kenesaw have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Red Cloud struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Kenesaw won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, slipping by the Warriors 67-66. Will Kenesaw repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
