The Organ Mountain Knights had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.6 points), and they went ahead and made it 14 on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 78-32 victory over Gadsden at home. Organ Mountain has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 33 points or more this season.
Organ Mountain's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emmitt McDaniel, who scored 14 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McDaniel has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ray Venegas, who scored 17 points.
Organ Mountain pushed their record up to 15-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points per game. As for Gadsden, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
Organ Mountain will head out on the road to challenge Alamogordo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Alamogordo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Organ Mountain is ranked third). As for Gadsden, they will be playing at home against Las Cruces at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
