The Westside Seminoles will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Perry Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Westside has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Westside beat Northeast 52-46.
Westside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Frazier, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Frazier continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Taylor Talton, who scored 20 points.
Perry suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Baldwin, falling 74-23. While losing is never fun, Perry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Baldwin is ranked 14th).
Westside's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Perry, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Westside against Perry when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 57-30 win. Will Westside repeat their success, or does Perry have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
