Central Valley Academy has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Holland Patent Golden Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Valley Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 18 games -- so hopefully Holland Patent likes a good challenge.
Central Valley Academy stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Notre Dame 71-37 on the road. With Central Valley Academy ahead 36-16 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Deacon Judd was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Central Valley Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tom Jacquays, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Holland Patent unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Friday. They took a 75-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Camden. While losing is never fun, Holland Patent can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while Camden is ranked 76th).
Central Valley Academy's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Holland Patent, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Central Valley Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Holland Patent when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 60-56 win. Does Central Valley Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Holland Patent turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
