C1 District 6 recap September 17, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Dalton Hinrichs and Nate Klaumann connected against Auburn. The connection was good for 80 yards, the longest such play in C1 District 6 this season.
Sandy Creek fell to Lakeview 83-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Blake Skolaut threw for 144 yards in the defeat.
Drew Tenopir was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 75 yards as Wilber-Clatonia lost to the Bulldogs. Carter Zlab also contributed to the rushing game with 43 yards on the ground.
Skolaut put up the best numbers in passing as Sandy Creek lost to the Vikings. Skolaut's favorite target this week was Dawson Messenger, who caught 4 passes for 75 yards.
Klaumann was the best receiver in the league this week as the Jeffs lost to Auburn. Klaumann tallied 3 receptions for 85 yards. Tyler Theye helped Fairbury's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 15 yards.
Leading C1 District 6 in both passing and receiving yards, Jamey Boelhower's team's Skolaut and Messenger have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Skolaut has thrown for 305 yards this season, while Messenger has 8 catches for 150 yards. Tenopir from the Wolverines leads the league in rushing with 139 yards.
Fillmore Central lost in the closest game of the week to 17-14 Minden. Hunter Klienschmidt was a bright spot for the Panthers, as he threw for 65 yards in the loss.
