The Vista Panthers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 58-48 win over El Camino. Given Vista's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while El Camino is ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
El Camino's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Pomare, who scored 16 points. The matchup was Pomare's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Devin Mcgee, who scored 13 points.
Vista now has a winning record of 3-2. As for El Camino, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Vista will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Scripps Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on November 30th. Scripps Ranch has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for El Camino, they will take on Laguna Hills at 5:30 p.m. on December 4th. Hopefully Laguna Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
