Groton-Dunstable had trouble last week, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Shrewsbury at 7:00 PM. Groton-Dunstable will be looking to avenge the 0-41 loss they took the last time these two teams played.
Groton-Dunstable didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 8-14 to North Middlesex Regional. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Groton-Dunstable.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up at the half for Shrewsbury and Grafton Memorial, but Shrewsbury stepped up in the second half. Shrewsbury narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Grafton Memorial 19-16. The margin of victory was a little narrower than expected seeing as Shrewsbury are ranked 55 places ahead of Grafton Memorial in the state rankings.
Shrewsbury's win lifted them to 2-0 while Groton-Dunstable's loss dropped them down to 0-2. We'll find out if Shrewsbury can add another positive mark to their record or if Groton-Dunstable can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Shrewsbury's step.
