The Carvers Bay Bears waltzed into their match on Wednesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They took down East Clarendon 55-36. Carvers Bay pushed the score to 45-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolverines cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Jerchel Geathers-Washington, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Morris, who scored five points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, East Clarendon still got an impressive performance from Hayden White, who scored 20 points. White hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games.
Carvers Bay is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for East Clarendon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-4.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Hemingway the next time they take the court. Carvers Bay will host the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Wolverines will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
