The Diboll Lumberjacks will be home for the holidays to greet the Central Heights Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Diboll unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 69-62 to Shepherd. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jadarian Kennerew, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Kennerew is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Zach Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Central Heights' 26-12 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 43-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sulphur Springs on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Central Heights has scored all season.
Diboll's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Central Heights, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Diboll came up short against Central Heights in their previous meeting back in January, falling 65-56. Can Diboll avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
