DeLaSalle and Richfield are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Islanders will take on the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. DeLaSalle is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Saul Garr made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, DeLaSalle got a massive performance out of Andrew Faust, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Rourick Gulbrandson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
DeLaSalle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .574. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Richfield came up short against St. Anthony Village on Friday, falling 12-5.
Jayden Anderson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Cason Carter, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
The victory got DeLaSalle back to even at 3-3. As for Richfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
DeLaSalle came out on top in a nail-biter against Richfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 9-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Islanders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
