The Gulf Buccaneers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Crystal River for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-32 win at home. The victory was just what Gulf needed coming off of a 71-42 defeat in their prior contest.
Gulf got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brenniyah Hall out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 steals. Hall is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ariana Rodriguez, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds.
Gulf's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Crystal River, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulf will take on Sunlake at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crystal River, they will be playing at home against Lecanto at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lecanto has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
