Basketball Recap: Tuscaloosa Home Educators Piles Up the Points Against Wiregrass

Tuscaloosa Home Educators lost to Wiregrass back in February of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Tuscaloosa Home Educators Warriors really took it to the Wiregrass Kings for the full four quarters, racking up a 43-9 win. That looming 43-9 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tuscaloosa Home Educators to victory, but perhaps none more so than Layken Horton, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Horton has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Arsenault, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 16 points.

Tuscaloosa Home Educators smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Tuscaloosa Home Educators has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.5 points per game. As for Wiregrass, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
