Borden County had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it eight. They lost 19-9 to the O'Donnell Eagles. The Coyotes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.
Borden County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tye Stipe, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Stipe also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another was Jett Napper, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
As for O'Donnell, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4. Considering they have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
On O'Donnell's side, Willie Luera made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Luera also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because O'Donnell is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Luera was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Lincoln Graham was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Brodie Boss was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
While Borden County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
