The Rider Raiders were the 63-61 winner over the Aledo Bearcats when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Rider fell to Aledo 56-51. While losing is never fun, Rider can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 649th, while Aledo is ranked 320th).
Caiden Reed and Gavin Aday certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Reed scored 20 points, while Aday scored 15 points. Reed is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played.
Rider bumped their record down to 7-16 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Aledo, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-10.
Rider will challenge Brewer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brewer is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Aledo, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Northwest at 7:30 p.m.
