The Columbia Central Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Tullahoma Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbia Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
On Friday, Columbia Central sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-42 win over Pope John Paul II.

It was another big night for Daniel Booker, who rushed for 262 yards and three scores while picking up 13.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 24 yards and one TD. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 110.5 rushing yards per game. Hason Baugh also helped out as he racked up 111 rushing yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Columbia Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 459 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Columbia Central's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out Isaiah Batten six times. The heavy lifting was done by Toriano Baldwin and Jamari Hall, who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, while Tullahoma put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Franklin County. The Wildcats claimed a resounding 43-0 victory over the Rebels. Considering the Wildcats have won three matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Columbia Central better keep an eye on Marvancy Johnson. He was instrumental in Tullahoma's win, rushing for 147 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 45 receiving yards and one TD. Johnson is becoming a predictor of the Wildcats' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 4-2 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Lucas Reed was another key player, throwing for 129 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes.
Tullahoma didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Logan Brewer, Elijah Alexander, Sam Bobo, and Landon Price picked up one apiece.
Columbia Central's record is now 5-3. As for Tullahoma, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Columbia Central couldn't quite get it done against Tullahoma when the teams last played back in September of 2024 as they fell 13-0. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Johnson, who rushed for 184 yards and one score. Now that the Lions know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
