The Stillwater Pioneers entered their tilt with the Tahlequah Tigers with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Stillwater simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Tahlequah 55-14 at home. Considering Stillwater has won five contests by more than 21 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Holden Thompson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 343 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Chance Acord, who threw for 109 yards and three touchdowns.
Darryn Spahr and Beckett Robinson certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Spahr rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown, while Robinson picked up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Stillwater's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-2. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40.4 points. As for Tahlequah, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stillwater will take on Muskogee at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Muskogee has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 322 points over their last five contests. As for Tahlequah, they will look to defend their home field on November 3rd against Bartlesville at 7:00 p.m. The last three games Bartlesville has played have been within five points, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
