The Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons Golden Knights waltzed into Thursday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Mayfield 75-43 on the road. For Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons, this counts as revenge for the 71-45 loss Mayfield walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
When it comes to explaining why Mayfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cloey Dopp. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points. The contest was Dopp's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Iannuzzi, who scored 6 points along with 11 rebounds.
Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Mayfield, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-3 record last season and are now at 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Northville at 5:30 p.m. on December 11th. As for Mayfield, they will square off against Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
