The Monroe Central Golden Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Daleville. If Monroe Central hoped to take revenge for the 50-29 defeat against they when the teams met , then they were left disappointed.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Daleville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Koleman Newsome, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Newsome has scored at least 25% of Daleville's points. Another player making a difference was Logan Leech, who scored 9 points along with 13 rebounds.
Monroe Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Daleville, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monroe Central will take on Wes-Del at 7:30 p.m. on December 9th. Daleville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Elwood at 7:30 p.m. on December 2nd.
