The Pisgah Bears put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Mountain Heritage by a score of 80-68. Given Pisgah's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Mountain Heritage is ranked 392nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pisgah was led to victory by Mason Putnam and Sawyer Belue. Putnam scored 18 points along with eight assists and five steals, while Belue scored 23 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that Putnam scored 15 or more points. Aaron Clark was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
Pisgah pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.7 points per game. As for Mountain Heritage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Pisgah will be home for the holidays to greet Smoky Mountain at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Smoky Mountain has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 374 points over their last six games. As for Mountain Heritage, they will head out on the road to face off against Watauga at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Watauga's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
