Ketcham has gone 8-2 against Fox Lane recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Storm will venture away from home to square off against the Foxes at 5:00 p.m. Ketcham's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Fox Lane's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Ketcham lost a heartbreaker the last time they played John Jay, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Storm put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 12-2 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Storm, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.
John Esposito tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
Meanwhile, Fox Lane faced Clarkstown South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Foxes came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 7-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Foxes as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Fox Lane also got a great performance from Jackson Carroll as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Carroll a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Will Rudolph, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Logan Mammola was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Ketcham pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Fox Lane, their record is now 14-5.
Ketcham skirted past Fox Lane 1-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Storm since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
