The Ocean View Christian Patriots were the 63-43 winner over the Mountain Empire Redhawks when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Ocean View Christian took a 37-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mountain Empire on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ocean View Christian has scored all season.
Mountain Empire's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maximo Gonzalez led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Andrew Sepulveda was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds.
Ocean View Christian now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Mountain Empire, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Horizon Prep the next time they take the court. Ocean View Christian will host Horizon Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Mountain Empire will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
