The Eastwood Troopers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Midland Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eastwood has seven straight wins, Midland has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Eastwood put the finishing touches on their 17th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Eastlake with a sharp 48-22 victory. Given Eastwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Eastlake is ranked 812th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Amaya Williams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Itzel Caro was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Midland ended up a good deal behind Permian on Tuesday and lost 43-25.
Eastwood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. As for Midland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-18 record this season.
