The Butler Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Sun Valley Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Butler has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 198 points over their last three matchups.
Last Saturday, Butler earned a 67-54 win over Huss. Given Butler's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Huss is ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Reece Starnes and Tyler Showalter were among the main playmakers for Butler as the former dropped a double-double on 16 points and 22 rebounds and the latter scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Starnes scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrance Badio, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Sun Valley pushed their score all the way to 65 last Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 77-65 to Corvian Community.
Butler is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Sun Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
